She was my nightmare. Every time I closed my eyes, I watched her fall into that inferno. Over and over, I failed to save her.
I hadn’t been able to reach her, and the guilt only burned hotter over time. Four years later, I was the unreachable one.Heroes aren’t always saints. Sometimes, we’re nothing more than jaded sinners driven by sleepless nights and hearts full of darkness.
And then I met her. She was a dreamer who managed to soothe my scars and heal my wounds. But, as the flames closed in around us, I feared I wasn’t the right man to save her. That is until I realized she was the one woman I’d burn the world down to protect.
5 “Butterfly” Stars!!
Aly Martinez's writing is freaking captivating this Author not only captivated me but, she made me want to live in this book in this remarkable world she has created for Rhion and Jude, that's just how spectacular this book was; I couldn't put it down for the life of me. I was so obsessed with these characters not only Rhion and Jude but, the side characters that I can not wait to read about to; I'm for sure that if and when Aly Martinez comes out with another book in this series I would drop any and everything to find a quiet place to read her next book I have complete fate in this author she is just that amazing.
“We can be beautifully flawed together.”
Rhion is a beautiful strong woman with scars covered up and down her whole I do not fell sorry for because she didn't feel story for herself she found away to overcome those scars and be comfortable in her own skin and in my opinion that is amazing, because not a lot of women are comfortable in there own skin and they don't even have all the marks she has yet she still stood tall confident and proud and I loved her for that still do Love her. Rhion doesn't think of her scars as a tragedy she thinks of them as her surviving and living and so do I. Rhion is tortured by her past and her present I don't want to spoil anything so that's all I'm going to say about Rhion, but I will say the moment you read her POV you will love her you might even go as far as worshiping her.
“I lost you to the flames once. It won’t happen again. Not a man, a woman, or a natural disaster could get past me when it comes to you.”
Oh God!! Don't get me started on Jude, But sense it's my review you gonna here it anyway. I fucking worship the ground he walks on; all Alpha Male with his sexy Self. I fell in love with him in the fucking blurb guys I'm sure you did to!! Jude is a man tortured by his past he has scars on the back of his neck and long blonde hair, he is so fucking controlling possessive not to mention Sexy as all hell ( yes! I know I already said that but, you gonna here it again!) I really felt for Jude not more than I did with Rhion. I loved being in his head there's something about when you're reading a Male's POV when you're a female and I have to say I like it a lot!! I know for a fact that if you read a Kristen Ashley book you will fall in love with Jude and Aly Martinez because Jude is all alpha! What I loved most of all about Jude is that he did not make excuses for himself everything he did or said was the truth and what he believed. He not only didn't make excuses but, he didn't let anyone else make it for him sometimes that is good and bad with Jude because he was tortured because of it.
“Rational thought had died in that stairwell. The moment I’d lost sight of her out the door, I knew I’d follow her. The second I’d seen Johnson standing there, I had known I’d fight for her. And the moment she’d smiled up at me, I had known I’d run a mile though broken glass to keep it aimed at me. Long story short: I was fucked.”
Rhion and Jude together is fucking intense and with lots of angst I was on the edge of my seat with them (Now that I think of I was on the edge of my seat the whole freaking book!) But them together is Hot and intense Jude was freaking protective and possessive of her and it was hot as hell! You could truly fell the love between the not only when they're having sex but when they're just sitting and talking are when they're away from each other they still think and talk about each other not stop and I wasn't annoyed about it was fucking ecstatic I wanted to here the things they thought of each other!!
Now it's time for me to rap my review up I just want to say thanks for reading and likening my review, and I highly recommend if you have read a Kristen Ashley book you should some read of Aly Martinez books!
